Daniel is a graduate of the Restorative Dentistry Department of 1994, where he continued his education in Biochemistry and received a degree of Bachelors in Science from the CUNY Graduate Center. He continued his studies and received his designation as a MDT from the American Association of Master Dental Technologists at NYU Dental School; soon thereafter he completed and earned his CDT status. He has worked and learned under some of the leading dental technologists in our field. He owned and operated a mid-size, high end commercial dental laboratory in Long Island, NY catering to some of the leading dental practitioners and their patients.
Daniel Alter joined the faculty at New York City College of Technology's Restorative Dentistry Department in the spring of 2008, where he has taught a vast array of courses including Tooth Morphology, Crown and Bridge, Ceramics, Metallurgy and Dentures.
His expertise involves Tooth Morphology and Gnathology, CAD/CAM, Implants, and Ceramics while continued research emphasized on CAD/CAM, Implantology and all its modalities, and advancements for Dental Laboratory Technology. He is an approved Infection Control lecturer for the National Board for Certification and sits on the executive/editorial boards for AEGIS, Inside Dental Technology and The Greater New York CDT Study Group. His commitment to education keeps him at the forefront of dental technology innovations and advances.
