Amann Girrbach Introduces New Milling Machine, Scanner, Materials and Furnace

Crowds gathered in Amann Girrbach's AGA Lounge to test drive and learn about the company's new digital equipment...See more and materials: The new Ceramill Motion 2 milling machine combines the 5-axis milling technique with the wet-grinding technique in a compact machine. Thanks to the hybrid design, the machine can be used as a purely dry or wet system. Offering a broad range of indications—including full contour crowns and bridges, inlays, onlays, veneers, abutments, zirconia frameworks and full arch restorations—the Motion 2 has a modular platform that's easily upgradeable for future materials and indications. In addition, the Motion 2 offers expanded material capabilities, including Amann Girrbach's proprietary materials line and other leading brands: - The company's newly launched Ceramill Sintron® CrCo millable blanks that have a wax-like texture that enables the material to be easily dry milled and the frameworks attain their final state during the subsequent sintering process. - Amann Girrbach's Ceramill Zolid, non-veneered translucent zirconia for full contour, monolithic crowns and bridges. - VITABLOCS® Mark II and TriLuxe forte glass ceramic blanks from VITA® and lithium disilicates such as IPS e.max® CAD blanks from Ivoclar Vivadent, Inc. Amann Girrbach's new line of holders for blanks and integrated tools enables technicians to process these glass ceramics in the wet-grinding mode. Ceramill Map400 Scanner is Amann Girrbach's next-generation scanner designed to work seamlessly with the Motion 2 as well as other open-platform systems. It features a new wide-angle measuring field that enables quick, efficient scanning of models using only two axes, which reduces scan times. It also easily records articulated models in an occlusal relationship, a prerequisite if a virtual articulator is used in the design software for an automatic fully anatomical framework design. Ceramill Argotherm® Sinter Furnace is a new high-temperature furnace specifically developed for the new Ceramill Sintron CrCo blanks.
