LMT LAB DAY is always the place for new U.S. product launches and this year didn’t disappoint: attendees got the first look at new lab and intraoral scanners, 3D printers and milling units; digital fabrication materials, such as zirconia for anterior use and PEEK; and solutions for removable prostheses, including some digital fabrication processes.
3D BioCAD introduced the TruMill line of precision wet milling machines. The X550 is a five-axis unit for fabricating copings, bars, zirconia, IPS e.max and abutments in ceramic and metal, and the X440 is a four-axis unit for...

Zhermack's New Dune EcoTech Micro-Sandblasting System Reduces Sand Consumption
Lab Day attendees got the first look at Zhermack's new Dune EcoTech Micro-Sandblasting System. The unit's flow shut-off valves and calibrated nozzles immediately interrupt sand flow when the pedal is released, allowing for controlled sand dosage and a dramatic reduction in sand consumption. The sand recirculating function reprocesses the abrasive materials for roughening procedures and lining removals, so the majority of the remaining sand is recycled and reused, resulting in minimum waste. A double connection that's...
