I started working in the lab business when I was 16 years old and started delivering cases for my father's lab, Derby Dental Laboratory. I graduated from the laboratory program at Lexington Community...See more College(now called Bluegrass Community and Technical College) in 1999 with a focus in crown and bridge. I worked at a model tech, and porcelain tech during summers while I finished my business degree at University of Kentucky, where I graduated with a Marketing/Management double major in 2003. I went to Derby Dental Lab after graduation where I worked as Vice President, implant tech, and quality control tech until the summer of 2008, when I returned to school to finish my prerequisites and applied to dental school at the University of Louisville(GO CARDS!!!!). I started dental school in 2009. I love the lab and dental business, it's truly in my blood. My grandfather moved to Louisville to go to dental school, and I have 5 dentists in my family,, 1 hygienist, and 1 lab owner. The staff at LMT has been gracious enough to allow me to share my journey through dental school in a column which appears several time a year. I am proud and thankful to be allowed to contribute to the greatest lab magazine on the planet.
