Infection Control and Occupational Safety

Infectious diseases have become more of an interest in the dental laboratory since more advances in infection control have emerged. This presentation is geared to inform the practitioner of some of the infectious risks that the dental technician may be exposed to and how to go about preventing and disinfecting all work coming into the laboratory. Which products to use and which techniques yield best results. Presentation on occupational safety will be centered on a review of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Hazard Communication Standard. Topics of discussion will include history of OSHA, the political and industrial circumstances surrounding its creation, as well as its practical implications in a lab setting.
