Ivoclar Vivadent Donates to Earthquake Victims

Biomet 3i Embraces the Spirit of Giving

Biomet 3i recently donated to charities and organizations around the world, including: Make-a-Wish Foundation®, which grants the wishes of U.S. children with life-threatening medical conditions; AboutFace, a Canadian organization providing support for people with facial defects; Travail et Partage, which employs and supports handicapped people in Belgium; Sternschnuppe, a foundation that grants the wishes of children in Switzerland; Waldpiraten-Camp, a special camp in Germany for children with cancer; and Solidarity Shoes, which collects shoes for African children.

For a Florida collection drive for overseas troops, staff members also recently collected 13 boxes of supplies, including gifts for children in Iraq and Afghanistan. The company also contributed to the Imaginarium chain of toy stores which collected and sent toys to orphans in Africa.

The California Center for Advanced Dental Studies (CCADS) recently kicked off its new Give Back a Smile program with some help from Dr. Jon Marashi of San Clemente, CA—the center’s southern California program director—and Frontier Dental Laboratory. El Dorado Hills, CA. The dental team donated a full mouth reconstruction valued at $40,000 to the patient. Brent West, general manager of Frontier, and his team fabricated a 20-unit combination case, including 11 e.max Press (lithium disilcate) restorations and nine PFMs. The laboratory plans to continue donating work to patients in the program throughout the year.


Heraeus Donates to Breast Cancer Research

Henry Schein and Supplier Partners Earmark $1 Million for Haiti Earthquake Relief

In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Henry Schein, Inc. and its supplier partners have earmarked $1 million in life-saving medical supplies to partner non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are providing relief, including AmeriCares, Direct Relief International, Heart to Heart International, International Medical Corps, LDS Charities and Medshare. The contributions are being made through Henry Schein Cares, the company's global social responsibility program. “As Haitian officials continue to assess the damage caused by this tragic earthquake, Henry Schein Cares is working closely with our partner NGOs to seek opportunities to support humanitarian relief efforts,” says Stanley Bergman, chairman and CEO for Henry Schein. “We stand ready to do our part to support our NGO partners and are committed to quickly getting these essential medical relief supplies on the ground to those who need them.”
