hello Lee, since your heavy into Nobel, has your rep mentioned anything on the capability of scanning Zimmer or 3I? I've been waiting 2 years.

That's a great question. I think 3i is somewhere on the horizon, but that just speculation, honestly. I doubt Zimmer is close by. We've been asking for Zimmer since day 1. :-/

3i has the scannable abutments already in place.

Yeah, but Nobel is not milling 3i abutments yet, and that's what we're hoping for.

I have to admit that I do a lot of BioHorizon implant work. But I also do Nobel Biocare implant select and I like those implants a lot. What I don't like about implant work is that there is not so much thought about functionality but that the focus is on esthetics only. It sometimes makes for bad compromises.

I do a lot of speaking on that subject. You're not going to get them all to work out right, but if you can get in with a good team you can all start working towards "prosthetically driven surgery" so that you're working towards the outcome, not "making it work" after the implant has been placed. Our role as techs has changed and we have to there to show the material and structural necessities of implants.
