Thanks to All Who Attended the Inaugural Digital Study Club
Well folks, we did it, we pulled off the launch of the Digital Study Club on April 25th. Let me say on behalf of...See more the entire CAP team that it was a tremendous pleasure connecting with you all! We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation for your participation. We hope that you found this first venture as enlightening and worthwhile as we did. This Digital Study Club meeting was geared toward scanner systems, specifically 3Shape and Exocad. The pros and cons of each system were discussed and in-depth interpretations regarding performance and reliability were given by accomplished technicians. To start, we had a brief introduction by Rob Nazzal, CEO of CAP. Rob conveyed his excitement to be at the beginning of this educational journey with such prominent members of the dental lab community. Rob expressed his hope that these meetings will serve as a foundation for open, honest interaction between dental techs wishing to convey their insights, and who desire differing perspectives on the world of digital dentistry. It was emphasized that these meetings are not CAP fueled, but rather are of the dental lab community, and thus will ebb and flow with the interests of its members. As we enjoyed some light dinner we listened to our first presenter, Mr. Justin Halupowski of Classic Dental Arts. Justin discussed his experiences and opinions about the 3Shape scanner and communicated the many benefits of this system. Next up we had Larry Bodony and his partner John Orfanidis discussing the Exocad system. They were very detailed in their description of Exocad, discussing processes and real-world scenarios. Each presentation was concluded with a question and answer section. We had some fantastic questions asked, and was even able to hear from Chris Brown of Apex Dental, who was viewing the meeting via webinar, which we are in the process of implementing to make the Digital Study Club meetings more accessible to our friends from afar. The last portion of the meeting was focused on eMarketing, presented by our own Rob Nazzal. Rob briefly explained how easy and cost effective it can be to implement Internet-based marketing into ones business model. Rob conveyed that access to the web has brought about a "Golden Age" for public relations. With the Internet, there is a tremendous opportunity to connect with those who are actively seeking out specific products and services. We wrapped up by having each attendee write down three topics that they would like to see presented in future meetings so that we may gear these events towards the interests of the members. Demos were also shown for those that wanted a more visual representation of the presented scanner systems. Again, many thanks to all of you who took the time to make the first Digital Study Club such a success! We look forward to pushing the limits of digital dentistry and providing educational updates for this rapidly evolving market. We encourage those who were unable to attend this meeting to participate in upcoming events either live or via webinar.
The Daily Bite
The larger the lab, the better the chance for acquisition: 78% of laboratories with 20 or more companies say they have been approached by a potential buyer compared to only 12% of one- and two-person labs.
