Schutz's new desktop-size scanner, the Tizian Smart Scan, features an optical light and large-capacity scanning bay that allows you to scan fully articulated models with most articulation systems. In addition,...See more the camera is positioned at a 45° angle. "This means each scan only requires 20 pictures compared to 60 in the previous-generation model. Since there is less data to mesh together, the scan time is up to 70% faster," explained John Schaible, President of Schutz Dental Group. For example, the unit can scan a single die in 59 seconds or a full jaw in 92 seconds. The Tizian Smart Scan has an accuracy of less than 10 microns and the open .stl file format means you can work with any open milling system including the Schutz Tizian Eco 4-axis dry milling unit and the Tizian Cut 5 wet/dry 5-axis milling unit. The compact system fits easily on any workspace and comes with the newest version of Schutz exocad, a 64-bit workstation and 22" monitor. SCHÜTZ DENTAL GROUP's TiZian porcelain can be used on zirconium or titanium substructures and is free of feldspar...See more for high transparency and esthetics, even after multiple firings. The combination of particle sizes between .3 and 60 microns results in extremely low firing shrinkage. The surface texture is homogenous and compact even after the first bake, and the resulting hardness is similar to that of natural dentition. Both simple ceramic restorations and high-end veneers can be layered easily. TiZian is highly polishable, even intraorally; has high bonding strength; and is available in kits or individually in 10- and 50-g bottles.
SCHÜTZ DENTAL GROUP's TiZian open-architecture CAD/CAM system is an economical and easy-to-use system for...See more producing precise copings, implant-supported bars, telescopic work and bridges up to 16 units out of zirconium, castable acrylic, wax, occlusal zirconia or provisional material. The isostatically pressed zirconia blocks come in 16- and 20-mm depths in six different sizes. The nesting software allows you to place up to 30 units on one block to maximize productivity and reduce costs. You can also mill on unused portions of zirconium and acrylic blocks for increased savings. There are no bar codes, dongle fees or maintenance/software contracts required. The TiZian software includes a virtual articulator that works with all systems and an abutment designer with a library of 11 implant systems to which you can add.
SCHÜTZ DENTAL's Tizian sintering furnace uses six high-quality MoSi2 heating elements to sinter zirconia ceramics...See more up to 1,600°C. Inner insulation ensures low power consumption and it's equipped with a security board that ensures the furnace door doesn't open accidentally. The HT controller is equipped with a thermocouple circuit breaker to prevent overheating in case the sensor is defective. The furnace comes with sintering beads and cup which holds up to 60 units; an additional sintering cup can be used to sinter a total of 120 units in one process. The new sintering oven HTS holds one cup of 30 units, but can do speed sintering of copings and small bridges in 90 minutes.
LMT’s 2012 Fee Survey shows an increase in the orthodontic sector, where fees have risen a healthy 8% since 2010. In fact, two-thirds of orthodontic laboratories say they've raised prices an average of 5% just within the last year.
