From what I'm reading on places like Glidewell, Atlantis, Procera and any other cad cam system. Iin order to produce abutments from different implant companies, the connection needs to be 10% different in order to bypass patent laws. Does anyone get complaints from Drs. I have one periodontist that has all his referrals opting out of cad cam abutments unless they are company specific manufactured?

Yes there is a difference of 6 to 10% to circumvent the patent laws. The fits are not the same. An aftermarket product may fit and work but it is not the same as OEM. I can make an genuine Nobel or Straumann abutment for less than a non patented 3rd party so why even try?. There are, what I would call, very legitimate knock offs backed by top tier companies that can be very good, maybe in some cases even improved upon, alternatives to the actual brand.
