'95-Present I've worked my way down from managing a 15 man full service laboratory, to a 2 man ceramic boutique. Couldn't be happier!! I spent 6 years as an independent laboratory leasing space in a dental office which was a wonderful experience. April 2012 I moved into a building I built on my farm, and went from a 35 mile commute to 150 ft.This May will be 32 years of being a technician and am probably more excited about the changes happening in our industry than I ever have been.

Combatting Price-Cutting: Try instituting tiered pricing plans that allow you to retain business you might otherwise lose to a less expensive lab. For instance, rather than lowering prices on your premium restorations, offer other options – like basic and mid-range restorations that require less labor and use a different quality of material.
