Mike is a graduate of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Dental Laboratory Sciences, summa cum laude. He is a CDT in crown and bridge...See more and has worked as a technician in all aspects of fixed restorative as well as orthodontics. He has had roles as a technician and manager for labs in Texas and Seattle.
Mike sits on the board of directors for the Washington State Dental Laboratory Association and will serve as Vice President in 2012.
In 2009 Mike founded Kymata Dental Arts, a boutique lab in Seattle.

Currently, I am...See more overseeing the removables department and manage most of the sales and marketing at our lab. This year, I was selected by the NADL as a recipient of the Pillar Scholarship and should have my removables CDT exams completed before November. I hope to continue on to obtain certification in more disciplines and eventually earn the title of MDT.
In my free time, I enjoy sailing, cycling [occasionally], running [even less], kayaking, remodeling my house and most things carrelated.

As many...See more know, we did mostly fixed work in the Air Force, consequently I did not make many dentures. After I retired, I ended up working as an inhouse technician for a Prosthodontist doing removable work, specializing in implants. I have always loved the laboratory career field, but became even more passionate when I started making dentures. I have met some superb people in this field who have helped me grow, which only fuels my passion for making even better prostheses. Currently, I'm enjoying the time of my life doing what I do and loving every day of it. I only wish the same for you.

I got to learn many other areas as well during my time at the lab (C&B, porcelain, etc). I became head of Captek dept at the lab prior to working for Captek / Argen full time back in May 2007. even though i am not at the bench as much as i used to be, i do trainings all across the country and globe, i lecture for labs and dentists and i have a small lab at my home where i am able to keep up with our products and also provide R&D support as well.
