9 in 10 Gen Zers Can't Imagine Life Without ChatGPT

A 2025 survey by AIResumeBuilder.com of 1,200 Gen Z adults (ages 18-28) reveals that nine in 10 Gen Zers say they’re reliant on ChatGPT and similar conversational AI tools. Forty percent say they use these tools daily; 70% have used them within the past month.
In terms of their level of reliance, 24% say they’re totally reliant, 35% say they’re very reliant and 31% say they are somewhat reliant; the remaining 10% say they’re not reliant at all.
ChatGPT is by far the dominant platform, used by 93% of survey participants, followed by Gemini (57%), Copilot (28%), Perplexity (12%) and Claude (10%).
The vast majority are using it for both work and in their personal life, and the most common uses are for brainstorming, research and problem-solving.
