Lab Robot Keeps Cases Moving

The newest employee at NeoLab is 45" tall, made of metal and plastic and requires very little downtime. He’s a Zeeno Go* pickup-and-delivery robot designed to autonomously carry casepans on his three large, built-in shelves.
Here’s how it works: Similar to the Roomba® ; robotic vacuum cleaner, the unit has wheels and sensors equipped with LiDAR technology at its base that can be mapped to your laboratory’s layout so it can navigate around and avoid obstacles. Using its built-in touchscreen, a web app or separate call button, technicians choose from three commands—Go to a Location, Come Here, Deliver or Fetch—then load the shelves with cases, if necessary. The wireless unit charges via a homebase and even knows when its battery is getting low so it can go back and recharge itself; on a full charge, it can operate for up to 12 hours.
