More than 60% of the respondents to LMT’s 2025 State of the Industry Survey say DSOs have impacted their business due to greater pricing pressure, demand for quicker turnaround and competition for dentist-clients since some corporate operations are encouraged to use specified labs.

Nevertheless, 11% of our survey respondents are embracing this new playing field and have established contracts with DSOs. An average of 16% of their business comes from these contracts and, while they often provide a boost in the lab’s caseload, that work is usually at a lower profit margin.
